Testimonials

We’ve worked with thousands of people who have used the Geri approach for professional development, to inform their research, create opportunities, help realise their ambitions and pursue purposeful engagement. The Geri approach has also informed the design of university PhD and engagement professional development programs, and related human capital decision-making.

These are some of their comments…

Provided a completely different perspective, which I think will be very valuable for my career. Very useful.

...an incredibly useful workshop for graduate students at any stage of their PhD.

We got Gary to run a workshop on industry engagement for science academic research leaders at our ACDS National Research Forum. He prepared well and spent time with us to get a better feel for the issues and for his audience. He was enthusiastic and energetic, both before and on the day, and did a great job generating a stimulating discussion among a challenging group of academics. He read the room well, was responsive to ideas, and got us further along the road we needed to go.

This is mind opening. Thinking about social impact is an area of weakness for me and it’s great to see the big picture, realising that the landscape is really changing.

My third time, its only getting better.

In my opinion, it was one of the best and most useful courses I had in the Graduate Research Development program. Personally, I took home many things to digest and think about, which is a positive outcome for a person at the beginning of their professional career.

... thank you for the work you did on the EDGE Framework. I’m really very pleased with it – particularly for its attentiveness to the principles we wish to see as part of the DNA of EDGE, its responsiveness to key stakeholders, and the sophistication with which it has landed as a developed framework.
— Professor Pat Buckley, University of South Australia
I thought the workshop was great, I found it useful. The content was good… There seemed to be some fear about engagement amongst some researchers, and a perception that what they think of as engagement was an extra task on top of their current workload rather than an understanding that it was a normal part of their work and a growing area of their development.

... I most valued the self assessment. It helped me think about my strengths, potential development needs - and what actions might be worthwhile.
